now i look at these hands, they don't move the same as two years ago.
i went to bed! but then i remembered i was gonna write a blog! so i'm still in bed, but now i'm in bed with TECHNOLOGY.
so i was telling some people about my fabulous band pat and brendan, since i am very excited about having recorded our EP, and so i can't shut up about it. but when people ask to hear some songs from said fabulous band, i tell them not to go to our myspace, and to wait for the EP instead - because the tracks on our myspace are from ages ago and they suck.
i was thinking to myself about this, and i realised that when those tracks were recorded a year and a half ago, i was incredibly proud of them. they were the best thing i'd ever been involved in creating. but now, not even two years later, i'm eager to sweep them under the rug and pretend they never happened. they make me cringe.
so i wonder, is it because they really do suck? has everybody else who's listened to them thought to themselves, "wow, these guys are terrible"? the conclusion i came to is that they don't totally suck. sure, there are things i would do differently about them now, but for the most part, they stand up. so the reason they make me cringe must simply be because i know i can do better now (something which will be proven quite effectively by the release of the EP - coming out NEXT YEAR).
and that kinda makes me happy. the fact that i just quietly realised that i have actually been getting better at what i've been doing (what i've been LOVING doing). hopefully one day i'll be able to look back on the EP and think to myself, "pfft. i could do that with both hands tied behind my back."
...but just to myself.
speaking of impending releases that are going to make you wanna get naked and dance around, the statics covers CD is almost finished! final day of tracking tomorrow, then mixing, then pressing, then launch at the evelyn, october 22nd. it's gonna be called "songs we wish we wrote" AND IT'S GONNA ROCK YOUR BALLS OFF.
anyway, time's almost up (going on the instincts!), so i'd better wrap this up and hit the hay. plus, y'know, the whole recording and work and gig tomorrow thing. BOOORING
punch in the face, or face in the punch?

when is that EP coming out? sounds like it's an album more than an EP
