here's to just sick of this shit but not giving a shit.
fucking hell.
i just spent a good hour trying to do something that would've taken roughly a minute on any other version of windows than vista.
i was trying to set it up so that when i open a file in winamp, it adds it to the playlist rather than erasing the entire playlist and simply playing that file. not hard, right?
well, i've done it several times before on every other computer i've ever had, and it's been incredibly simple! just change it so that "enqueue file in winamp" is the default action, rather than "play file in winamp". well apparently that was just too complicated, because they've completely removed your ability to do that in windows vista.
so i checked out what people were saying about it on the internet, and not surprisingly, there were a lot of people pissed off about the same thing. and the only solution seemed to be downloading one of a multitude of programs that'll bring back the functionality that used to be built into explorer.
well, i had to download four (count 'em) different programs before i found one that had the ability to simply change the default action of a file type. seriously, how fucking hard is it? if you're gonna make a program that edits file type actions, why the hell would you release it without implementing THAT, the most basic of features?
so, in summation, HOLY HELL

OMG I know it's, what - 4 years later? But I am so mad right now & yours was the only post/blog i found about the exact same problem i'm having in Win7. grRRRRR! I still like Winamp alot But this sucks. I just lost a whole playlist too, of a CD i was trying to get together, & i've spent roughly an hour trying to get Winamp to only enqueue a file at the end of the list to no avail...
Thanks for letting me vent, & i will look into the file types now.
