yeah, this is what i call the helm.

gerard's dog doofas had to be put down today. that sucked. heaps.
he ate a kilo of sultanas, which evidently are pretty bad for dogs.
so that's... the worst thing i've heard all month.

other than hearing about that, i didn't do much today. slept in, played DS, tried unsuccessfully to fix the internet, worked on some designs, wouldn't tell sara where the toilet was, had a short band practise, cut up flyers, ate a chicken sandwich, wrote a blog.

i put the any of this clip up on newgrounds. so far, everyone seems to either love it or become confused by it.
seriously, who doesn't know who phar lap is?

wait till you get home.

woo! i get to sleep tomorrow.
i have to be up by 6pm though. darn.
as bad as it makes me sound, seeing as i work less than 90% of people i know, it really is good to have a day where i can just lie in bed and do nothing. it's only been a couple of weeks since most days were like that, but i miss it already. i worked pretty damn hard on that film clip for a while there, and i kinda burnt myself out. now it's time to crash. and sleep.
and now, since i'm lying in bed, i'm drifting off while i'm writing this.

good talk.

half-asleep in the snow.

posting from work today.
i have been writing these just before i go to bed, but i was up till 5am last night working on the statics clip, so i didn't really have the energy to blog when i finally decided it was time to hit the hay.
the good news, though, is that the clip is about 98% percent done. pretty much all the animation is done. i'm just going through and fixing stuff today, and making sure it'll look good on a big TV tonight. so it'll be done by tonight, and it should be on the internet in the next few days.

also, our first 100 copies of the statics album are scheduled to arrive today. well, actually they were scheduled to arrive yesterday, but since they didn't, it looks like it'll be today! and currently i'm the only one at the store, so if they arrive in the next hour, i'll be the first one to get my filthy little hands on a copy.

and that's pretty much it for now. tonight i will be able to sleep without having nightmares about flash.
and that's really what it's all about, isn't it?

oh yeah, come on.

two days in a row. i sure am turning it up.

not much has changed since the days of yester. still working on the statics clip, although it is far closer to completion. about 500 frames left, and then i can go back and start fixing stuff. and although i could spend another month fixing bits of it, i'll try to keep realistic so it can be finished on time. nothing more motivating than a public deadline.

so hey, if anyone wants to chuck some money my way for a new laptop, that'd be sweet. this baby's gotta be at least 5 years old by now, and while it was pretty sweet even two years ago, it doesn't do so well simultaneously running flash cs3 and photoshop cs3 (and sometimes illustrator cs3 as well!), especially after a few years of performance-depleting regular use.
it's on its way out. its first battery kept giving a "gonna catch on fire" warning, so i'm currently running it on a replacement battery that hits 0% power when it thinks it's actually at 55% power. so that's not exactly the coolest.
some of the lights are starting to not work, not to mention the power button (for once, "just press it really hard" is actually the solution).
so what i'm really trying to say is, give me your money. give me all of it.

i hope that once this film clip is done, i can gather up some time and motivation to work on the long-overdue (well, not really, since nobody's actually waiting for it except me) baron von mudflaps EP.
oh yeah. it'll be here eventually. you'll see. you'll all see.

but if you'd listen like i want you to

i'm gonna see if i can't start updating this blog regularly. i've always wanted to keep a regular blog, but never could be bothered. previously i've held myself back because:
a) i generally hate the kinds of people who keep daily blogs,
b) i generally hate the kinds of people who read the daily blogs of others, and
c) i hardly ever see things that happen throughout my daily life as "blogworthy".
although, this isn't to say that nothing i do is blogworthy. as i glance through the blogs of others, it would seem that farts are blogworthy. it's moreso that my brain doesn't say, "i should post a blog about this!" ...and come to think of it, if my brain did say that more than once a month, i would wonder whether or not i deserve to live.

so. hey. i've been working on the animated film clip for the statics' first single, any of this. it's pretty much been consuming my entire life lately, since it's gotta be done by wednesday (and i'm fairly confident that it will be). although this kind of sucks, since i do enjoy sleeping in until noon, it's also pretty awesome. i've really been regretting not spending more of my time on animation. i'm fairly certain that if i actually just put more hours into it, i'd be a halfway decent animator. i just generally run out of steam on my ideas fairly quickly. usually, if i don't have someone jumping on my back, i'll get the project about 20% done, and never touch it again. gerard has been awesome at keeping me working on this though, and it's finally paid off. that's right, i'm finishing something. who would've thought?

my computer BSOD'd during that last paragraph. thank god our futuristic blogging technology saved my every thought as a draft, or future generations would be deprived of my 2am wafflings.
and now, if you'll excuse me, i'm off to eat some glass.
